It has come to my attention recently that EVERY SINGLE one of you people have been saving your files in .doc and .docx format, and as i have already told some of you people, to save it in Rich Text Format, or .rtf and contradictory to common misconceptions, it will open EXACTLY the same as when u save using .doc or .docx format and takes up ALOT LESS space then .doc or .docx format, becuase it does not save all the previous changes made to the document, and since we are passing the documents around like that, we should try to make the file as small as possible to make all our lives easier when transfering from one person to another, as well as to make more space avaliable on your computer's hard disk.

preferbably i would rather we use .odt format as it takes up even less space and is for open office, but i have come to the realization that all you sad people have been completly brainwashed by microsoft and Bill Gates, and think that microsoft office is better then open office since open office is free, but you have failed to realise that since it is a open source program, and is worked on by thousands of professional people with the one aim to make your lives better and to break the monopoly of microsoft by providing your with SUPERIOR and BETTER word processors, spreadsheet processors and presentational side makers for FREE. and since this is edited by thousands of people, and feed back is collected from millions of people that use it, the interface, as well as the functions present in open office is in every way superior to the propertarian, overpriced, lousy, high memory and cpu consuming and inflexibility in microsoft office, both 2003 and 2007(actually it has always been that way from the very start ever since Bill gates left Harvard to start Microsoft) and this major FLAWS will NEVER be overcomed for as long as microsoft has the monopoly of the OS industry, so dont go round hoping that they will dramatically inprove ms office with the next update, or even in the next version, because it wll never happen. so in conclusion i ask of you not be so blind and be misled into thinking that microsoft is trying its best to provide you with the best software on the market, and to shed the misconception that you have that free software is not as good as somthing you paid hundreds of dollars for. i do not ask for your money, only your support in the war against microsoft, and you can take the first step by downloading and using open office from http://www.openoffice.org/, and uninstall microsoft office as soon as you install open office, you will find that years from now when you grow old and retire, and when you look back, you will find that you have had a much richer, fuller life that is stress - free, and when you relise how much longer you have lived becuase you did NOT use microsoft office or as few or none of their products, you will look back and think to yourself how lucky you have been to have learnt of the treacheries of microsoft, and help in the fight against it to save the next generation from this money sucking plague that we now know to be Mircosoft.

please help to spread the word of the treacheries of microsoft and help to support the open source community in its war against microsoft.

The Movement For the Projects in Crisis

Hey all,

I am proud to announce that I have come out with a concept of how to curb slackers from slacking in any projects and thus allow everyone to do work in a fair manner. This is known as the slacking credit cap-and-trade system.

First, everyone in the class will start off with 20 slacking credits. Slacking credits will entitle one to slack for a given amount of time which fluctuates with the value of slacking credits in the class cap-and-trade system.

Next, inflation must come in. Without tight regulation of the slacking credit trading system, the value of the slacking credit will rise quickly. Therefore, the value of the slacking credit should not exceed an inflation rate of more than 30% per week.

A demand-and-supply issue for the slacking credit system is critical. In weeks with loads of tests, there will be an anticipated major selldown in slacking credits as everyone will want to revise for their tests and quizzes. Therefore, the supply goes up while demand goes down. This will decrease the value of the slacking credit. For example, 100 slacking credits can be used to exempt one to do a SECTION of the report ONLY; during a major selldown, the amount of slacking credits needed will be more than 200. When demand goes up, when everyone starts earning their slacking credits by working a lot for projects, the supply goes down and the value of the slacking credits will increase.

This will allow to serve as a curb on the slacking period each group member can slack for.

Now, how to earn/spend slacking credits?
Basically, the price is currently pegged at 100 slacking credits to exempt yourself from cleaning up the lab tables; 200 for exemption to do a report.

By doing reports and doing practicals, you will be able to earn slacking credits which you can use later.

When one has no slacking credits at all, peer review will then be taken into effect. This is to allow a fair judgement and evaluation of the peer evaluation.

Physics Perspective of Sports

Hi all,

This post will be exceptionally crucial when doing sports as this encompasses all forms of physics principles viewing sports. By following them, you will be ensured to win the first in a race.

1. There is no use running fast. Since you are running around the track, there is ZERO displacement in 400m running events. Therefore, you achieve 0 velocity and thus 0 speed.

2. When running 100m, 200m running events, remember to state if you are measuring absolute speed or relative velocity. Please note that absolute velocity will be approximately 130km/s as the Earth is moving across the Milky Way. Relative Speed will be the speed you achieve by running.

3. Do remember to ask the person timing you to account for time dilation which is about 10^-13 seconds for running for 10 seconds at world record speed of 10m/s. Corralis forces must also be accounted.

4. Time standard must be clearly defined as anyone can define one second as an oscillation made by a pendulum in space (zero-gravity). Parallax error must also be accounted as gravity of the watch and electrons involved in time-keeping bends light to a certain extend, though not observable.

5. The faster you go, the less accurate you will be able to define your position. Therefore, don't run too fast or else the time-keeper will not be able to take down your timing due to infinite uncertainty in your position.

6. Make sure you are distant from any massive objects, such as concrete slabs should ever they bend light and cause the reflected rays from you not reaching the spectators and the time-keeper.

Be sure to take all neccesary physical precaution and good luck for the upcoming sports day!

well, exams are over so those who's planning the class party pls hurry up. i thought we decided that the idea of class chalet be cancelled? because A LOT of ppl won't stay overnight. at most 5 ppl i guess. sentosa is so far lah. and its expensive to go and play there. there are only places for us to SEE not PLAY. and i think watching class movie is a bit boring. we can't bond the class by just sitting in the cinema watching spiderman 3 or smth. just plan a NORMAL class party which i dunno how to define 'normal' since so far all the class parties were abnormal. i define normal CLASS PARTIES as not getting lost, no bowling, no arguments and not getting split into groups all the time. thats all i want to comment.

It is almost the end of the exams and it is almost the start of the holidays!

Anyone interested in joining me for a game of bowling during the marking days, most probably thursday? It should be in the early afternoon and ends around the evening...

Getting to the main point, who wants to go to Costa Sands or Sentosa for a one-day chalet? It will be fun, but I am not sure whether most of us are actually willing to stay overnight. Sentosa will be more outdoor-based tents actually... as the chalets and hotels are very expensive. Expensive is defined as involving serious losses or disadvantage to a particular person. Using the Heseinburg's uncertainty principle, and assuming each dollar note weighs 0.005kg, global GDP is 30000billion and there are 6 billion people in the world, the speed at which money travels across each individual person in the world is 3*10^13/6*10^9=0.0095 s^-1. Using kinetic energy formula KE=0.5mv^2, the kinetic energy of money is 0.0095^2/2*0.005=2.25625*10^-7. Using the uncertainty principle E*t, where t is the period of time we will receive our monthly pocket money which is 60*24*30seconds=43200seconds, the chances of actually receiving our equal share of global GDP (3*10^13/6*10^9=$5000 per annum or $416.67 per month) is equal to or more than 0.9747%, which is a high probability that we may not receive our full share of $416 from global GDP.

Perhaps we plan the Sentosa outing tomorrow? It may be a little tiring to plan but afterall, it is worthwhile.

Rides are not operational during rain and lightning. Tickets will be revalidated in the event of rain resulting in rides stand-down.

Can I bring outside food into the park?
No outside food is allowed. Burger King and Orange Julius operates within the Park.

Pram & Umbrella Rental Service Having fun and going on rides in a theme park means that you shouldn't have to worry about bulky possessions. To make your stay more enjoyable, prams and umbrellas are available for rental from the Guest Relations Office.

First Aid We also have a First Aid Officer on standby to attend to minor ailments and complaints. Should you have need of emergency medical attention, the First Aid station is located near the entrance of the Park

Hi guys,
here is the rough outline of the class gathering:

Date : 21st December 2006

1. Meet at Pasir Ris MRT station at 11am sharp. We will be waiting for the shuttle service which will be coming at 1115hrs. For those who come late, they can choose to take 3, 6, 12, 17, 21, 89, 354, 358 although I am not sure of the bus terminals they come from. However, there is one of these buses that will go to the escape. The escape opens at 10am so we will not be wasting our time waiting for the escape to open. Admission is at $6 for both adults and children.
2. Have some fun there and if we are lucky enough, we need not queue up for the rides and we will be able to round everything up by 4pm or 5?
3. Proceed to bowling till 8pm?

Transportation summary:
1. Pasir Ris MRT station > Shuttle Service OR bus services either 3, 6, 12, 17, 21, 89, 354 or 358
> Downtown East > Escape Theme Park

2. Downtown East > Bus service > Pasir Ris MRT station > Tampines MRT station > bus service 67 to Tampines SAFRA bowling centre.

If it rains, we shall push it back to 23rd December. So, pray hard guys. Should it be raining on the 23rd, I guess we shall talk about it when the time comes. Meanwhile, keep a watch on the weather forecast.

P.S. If anyone wants to play hide-and-seek in Downtown East, pls tag on the board. If there is at least a two-third majority, i guess we will be pushing back the schedule by an hour or so. For now, this is the plan I can think up of. Sorry for the delay guys. I deeply apologise. Bye for now.

xDxD came back from buying E's late birthday/new year's/thanks giving/etc. present with Sis and Johor.... Damn fun day xD, and E, dun buy any GBA catraidges(?), we got you something nice xD.

Hmmm.... so what we did all day, was get E's Bday(etc.etc.) present, watch Sis play maple and occasionally help out, help her with some maths stuff, watch Anime which JB insists on watching, play Badmn with super strong winds, Make me try to LAUGH and PUKE while I was eating Unagi....

Hmmm.... I'll let Sis fill out the more funnier details, but I'll just post some pics on how we stress the hell outta ourselves trying to stuff the badmn net into a frikin small box. The box was so DAMN small, I wonder how Yonex managed to stuff the net in....
As usual I apologise for quality.... this time JB used his phone. Erm.... we managed to get the black part in, but the white part couldnt, too bloody fat.... so Sis saved us and used her common sense...

So we simply stuffed the white part in 1st, and managed to stuff the stupid net back in, took us a whole 25 mins. =D xD
Well, the end product, a LOT messier then the original net, which was damn bloody neat and the like...

OH YEA, on the new class party thing, urgh, i need to know when everyone is still in singapore and such, and thats a fat problem, cuz odds are everyones missing already, erm....

They SERIOUSLY should hold more of these kinda concerts xDxD, cuz that one totally ROCKED XDXD To reminence i'll just post what happened during the concert/party/arts fest

1st thing that happened was Cheerleading... Erm, all 4 houses combined to make 1 big combination of cheers. Errr.... Pretty good, cept one of the girls couldnt do any of the stunts due to communication error or something...

Next was errr.... drama?? The director died LOL, best plot I heard all day... hilarious like hell. They apparently had to improvise to entertain the audience becuz of this "misfortune", and come up with their own script and stuff, and they made a guy a girl, hmmm

Then there was, erm, dance club i think? Pretty interesting dance, bout gossip I think, about a girl and 2 guys, weird xD. Nice dancing sis!

And then ANOTHER dance, with people doin hip-hop culture. That was really COOL, seriously... xD though the remix of songs was kinda weird

Then taichi master Mr.Ho took over the stage, with his super slow-mo martial arts xD. What was REALLY funny however was Bryce and YQA using their "taichi" to "whack" each other, damn bloody funny!

And then Ms.Wong and her all-teacher band started playing, pretty nice actually, 1 hour straight, damn fun... YQ and Bryce started doing retarded stuff, like throwing Terry on stage.... and DANCING TOGETHER!? Damnit man, whats wrong with you people?? xD

Ok to be honest.... this was bloody funny, but to be more honest... Bryce wtf are you doing?? Seriously.... Are you drunk?? xD Maybe I'll post it on youtube, who knows?

Hey guys, Tomorrow's the class party!!! WOOOO xD Ok guys pls do not forget to bring your stuff, and I'll promise not to bring you to the wrong place =). Err, Just incase some people forgot:

Ok errr..... I just realised that i forgot to post directions to my house. Shit. Ok erm.....

Just remembered that someone must bring charcoal and buy trays so we BBQ the food on the tray. Bring butter or smth so we can apply over the food. and plastic utensils + garbage bags are a requirement.

Hey Si Ying nice job!!! You organise well xD. Erm sending email to sch email..... erm, i dun think anyone really checks the school email, to be honest...... But we can chain handphone numbers, that should work fine.

Erm, Im not sure if we can dump the food at the condo, cuz my GM's place doesnt have much space.... So I think dump food at my house 1st, and then go to OCC. (5 Springleaf Walk)

For food, If i counted right, Utk, Sis, WWJ all are bringing marshmellows, about 6 packets i think altogether. I'll try to bring snacks, Mums being stingy bout fridge storage.

At OCC, we can only go bowling sadly, but at my GMs place theres a pretty big swimming pool, so people who wanna swim can do that too, and its pretty big, so hide and seek is fun as well. So the BBQ wont be such a long wait, but we should be at my GMs place for that long.

That amount of food for 19 people..... Some might not come, like Marc or XinYu, so <19 people are coming.... Wow, Im not really sure how much each of us here eat, So we cant really finalise right? But to be safe then sorry, if theres any leftover food, I'll eat it xD, Or i'll bring home, Or store at GMs house.

And if it rains on that day, simply we can all STILL BBQ, cuz theres 1 pit at my GMs place with a shelther, so we cant play hide and seek if it rains, but can still swim if you want.

Im trying to find a way from my place to OCC, so erm I'll try to find one now, Cya!!

Si Ying..... its SERIOUSLY very stressing here.... for some reason im putting all the things together..... wheres the support? Sorry but im really very tired today.....
I'll try to solve the problems again....
1. Escape is closed, so bowling, DTE and bbq is all we gotta do, less trouble.
2. Im a member of Orchid Country Club, which has a bowling alley and a buncha stuff there to do.... so solves another problem
3. Food can be dumped at my place I guess....
4. I propose we cut the DTE thing, and simply go to OCC, cuz according to some people, they have to be home by 11 or so. As such, if we cut off DTE, all can come my place, dump the food, go OCC, have fun, come back and marinate the food, bring my Grandmas house, BBQ, Done.
And JB also proposed we have hide and seek at the condo, cuz it is pretty big, so yea...
5. Not really as much fun as DTE, but for sure time wont be an issue.
6. Im not sure how to inform everyone, i sent an sms to about 13 people, bout 10 havent replied.
7. Food..... I really cant solve that problem.... People not replying my messages or emails, hard to plan anything..... If u can help PLEASE send me what u can bring and I'll try and sort what 18 people can eat.....

People can come my house to drop the food or if they need help gettin to OCC, ppl who dont can go there 1st, and start 1st. Overall everything should be..... From 11am - 9pm??

GUYS!!! i am getting hyper fed-up with this whole class party thing. i know it is not easy organising a party within a short time but i think we shld really sit down and work things out instead of just giving suggestions and cramming all of them together.

1) Let us just have a BBQ party next Wed
2) One or two person can meet up and buy most of the things before the party. Payment can be settled later.
3) Marination can be hopefully done by someone leaving near the place of the party
4) we can do some activities which is near the BBQ pit like swimming or smth
5)We can spend the whole day in escape somewhere in December cos i dun tink everyone wants to go to the escape and spent money for entrance fee and end up not taking any rides
6)we must find a way to inform everyone abt the party

Pls try to solve this problems asap. Dun mind me for being pushy but i am really...

Firstly, we do not have to cram everything into next week. there is such a thing call the NOVEMBER HOLIDAYS. we can have the BBQ party next week and all the other activities somewhere in December to celebrate Christmas or something. the BBQ party is to celebrate the end of the EOYs. secondly marinated food must be left for at least 4 hours if not it will defeat the purpose. Charcoal can be stored at Timo's grandmother house. Thirdly, if everyone bring some food, we will NOT be able to finish it. if u ask someone to who lives at the other end to bring food, it will look interesting for them to take the uncooked food onto the train 10am in the morning.

Hi guys,
I will discuss the problems with Timothy's plan in this entry. There is an apparent lack of organization in this plan. No offence though...
First, bowling for 18 people will at least need 4 lanes. A typical game will be 3 rounds. This will take at least 3 hours for everyone to finish off their games and settle their bills.
Secondly, hide-and-seek will at least take up 2-3hours as DTE is a large area and even if we limit everyone to just a quarter of DTE, we will at least need 2 hours. As for the penalty, we need to spend at least 3 hours in the escape theme park in order to make it worth the entrance fee which is $10. The nearest bowling centre from DTE is the Tampines SAFRA and we need at least 1 hour or so for travelling. Apparently, if we add up all the time needed for these three activities, we will at least need to take up 9hours. It is not possible for us to rush to WJ or Adeline's house to marinate them before going to Timothy's house and end at 11pm. Parents will definitely object. For people living at the other end of Singapore, we will be reaching home at 1am and to walk on the streets at 11pm is very dangerous. I suggest that we split the activities into two days with 7 Nov to DTE and 8 Nov to the BBQ party. I wish to see a change in schedule and this is easily achieved if the class give a green light to this plan of splitting the class party into two days. Those who are agreeable to this, please tag on the tagboard asap. Thanks a lot.

Hi guys, ok, edited so now dividers are now normal n will not clash or "merge" wiv each other, making things look ugly. there r many things being shifted n new components that most might not hav seen b4. take note, plz go n read the new rules & conditions section. for video lovers lyk utti, plz take not of the size limit of width 400 or 400px of it will actually go over the dividers n look awful. other conditions n rules r found there. As for the link button 4 our class blog i proposed early, i only got a response from timo. can more ppl plz comment. n if we want a class blog link button, can some1 come up wiv a beatiful design for it? i can do the html coding for tt to work. for example of a button as i said earlier, visit my blog's links section, there is one of my blog link button there. u guys can also comment on the design n layout of the blog after editing. u might wan to tell me wat further improvements can b made, etc.

PS. Read the new sections esp the "Rules & Conditions" n get familiarized with the new layout!
PLEASE TAG COMMENTS ON THE TAGBOARD reagarding these few issues stated above.

Well, I'll try to fix the problems to the best of my ability.....

Err.... The date of the party is on an exam date, so actually we'll all be
free.....
As for the marinated food, I have another idea, but erm, WWJ's or Adeline's fridge has to be like TOTALLY empty. We can all instead bring food, each of us bring something, and store it in WWJ's or Adeline's fridge so as to prevent rot. This solves the food problem.
Then the bbq pit. Some can bring charcoal, or i'll store at my G'mas house, no gurantee though. We can get some ppl to bbq while the rest swim or talk or something. This solves the cooking problem
Then the marinating. Erm, after DTE, bowling and stuff, we can go back to WWJ's or Adeline's house, and then marinate the food. <<<< READ

Those who dun like touchin meat or somethin liddat, pls dont try this....

After marinating we then can move to my grandma's house there, and start the bbq pit, or change into swim clothes and swim or go to the playground xD. erm..... and im not sure bout non-marinated food.... we can buy that somewhere and put at WWJ's house or Adeline's house too?

i think we better stick to the one-day plan cos it is very difficult to find two days where 18ppl is free at the same time. Marinated food can be brought by someone who lives near by like Wei Jin or Adeline. some ppl can go play first while some ppl BBQ the food then take turns. those who dun know how to BBQ, it will be safer to continue playing. where do u want to be at 11pm? then everyone can meet there and go play while some ppl follow timo to his Grandmother's house to BBQ and set up the pit. i think we better buy some charcoal in case and can we buy haws( at least i think it is spelled like that).it will be easier to set upp the pit with tt. and for non-marinated food, is there any shop selling sausages or sweetcorn or smth near ur Grandmother's house?

Well ok ppl..... we have a few issues with the thing....:
1. The food gotta be marinated, but if carried in our bags, will turn into rot
2. We might not have enough time to do everything on the list
3. Charcoal apparently isn't supplied at my grandmas place =/

I thought of this and realised a solution:

We split the party into 2 different days, 1st day we got DTE, hide and seek, bowling, etc. then we go for dinner at a restaurant or go home. 2nd day we go over to someones place with a bbq, we ALL bring food there, marinate the food there, and then we all eat, with some ppl cooking. All comments on the taggy.

Oh and btw, my mum said marinate the food at my grandma's place oso is a good idea, cuz then we all can go swimming while we eat, or something liddat.... Comments please, DO NOT IGNORE THIS POST!!! thank you.

Hi guys, timo's plan sure is great, i muz thank timo and the ppl who helped plan in the party. Thanks guys. anywae, when i m more free, i will help to fix the dividers for the blog to make this perfect, but let me hav some time to rest ;). oh ya, btw, juz a show of "hands"(messages more likely...), who wants our own class blog link button created? plz comment on the tagboard. then we can come out with a nice design stating "m06104" then ppl can put our button on their blog and when clicked, the button redirects ppl to our blog. suggestions, wants, hates, etc, all plz go to the tagboard soon. i can do the coding for the button. so keep the suggestions going n state whether u lyk it or not... so i will be waiting for ur comments.

Hi guys...
Tomorrow is the chemistry exam and I trust that you guys don't cram up so much information in your brain that you just go blank during the exam.
Now... I am proposing an idea for the class party. Here it goes:
We will be going to downtown east to play hide-and-seek. The class will be split into 2 teams of 8 and two seekers. These 16 people from the two teams will be hiding in any location in any corner and in any shop in downtown east. It is up to them on the distribution of team members. The game is over when all the members in the team are found by the seeker. THE PENALTY: A scary ride for the losing team which will be specially chosen by the winning team.
NOTE: HP no.s all needed or else you won't know when the game is over and you will be going home very late.

i know exams are coming but by the time we decide on wat to do for class chalet,it be fully booked. even worse,there may be regulations that we must book weeks before. anyway, we can have a class party in the chalets (hopefuly BBQ)then those who wans to stay overnight stays the rest can go home. btw, the class' 2 PSLs can come in the afternoon after their meeting (if Joanna doesn;t mind comin with WJ...)good luck for all exams
